        set $dns ""myservice"";
        proxy_pass http://$dns.svc.cluster.local:80;
    }
}

(Let's assume myservice.svc.cluster.local can resolve to a valid address for now)

However, when I do the same with grpc_pass it fails:

    listen 8080 http2;
 
    location / {
        set $dns ""myservice"";
        grpc_pass grpc://$dns.svc.cluster.local:50051;
    }
}

The error I'm getting is:
