Description

When you have a configuration like:

server {
    server_name whatever;
    location /static {
        proxy_pass http://proxied:80/static;
    }
}

the Location header for redirects issued by the proxied server contains "proxied" rather than the primary server's name. This also happens if you have a proxy_redirect directive which uses port 80 explicitly.

If you remove the ":80" from the proxy_pass directive, it works as expected.

The proxy_redirect directive does prefix comparison on what is returned by your backend server. It will work with :80 as long as a Location with :80 is returned by your backend server, and won't work as long as your backend server returns Location without :80.
