Description
Hello,
access_log supports variables in the path given, but not error_log.
That seems strange, is it possible to change this ?
Thanks

Even more important that the error log is a critical thing. It must be available all the time.
Let's assume that you have set path to /path/$var/error.log
, then where an error during evaluation of $var
(e.g. allocating memory for $var
) should be logged?
But we may think about variables support for error_log
specified in context different from main.

Yes, my intention was for error_log in server context. It would be great, so i'll be watching release notes hoping some day it will be done :)
Thanks for your answers.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
It's so by design. Variables are only available with HTTP requests, while error_log is not limited to HTTP.
